I have enjoyed working with all of you so much and appreciate all of the help you have given me. You have completely transformed my relationship to exercise in a way that makes it fun, tough, and ultimately do-able. The change that you have helped to facilitate is so incredible.

I know I am new and don't have a lot to critic, but I have been totally happy with my experience. I was really nervous and intimidated coming into this, and I feel that yall have done an awesome job of breaking things down so its easier to digest. I am very pleased with the one-on-one feel and love the weekend workouts (when I can make them) when its a big group.... nice change to kinda re-motivate on bigger scale.

You guys are running an OUTSTANDING gym. Crossfit Gainesville has been the most positive workout experience I've ever had, what I've gotten from you guys (and the rest of the folks at CF Gainesville) easily eclipses personal trainers, team sports, solo workouts from the past. Coming to Crossfit is a high point in my week, I can completely focus on me, I shut out all of the 'noise' associated with work, life, etc. Personally, the mix of camaraderie and competition is a great way to keep me motivated and working towards new goals. I wish I had found out about Crossfit Gainesville earlier.
I'm loving that there is now a 'team' that is showing up at local races in G'ville. It makes getting to a local race that much easier when you know you'll have a few (or even a lot) of friendly faces to see.

Becoming a member of CrossFit Gainesville is absolutely the best decision I have ever made. My coaches have helped me completely change my life for the better. I started my journey at 167lbs on a 5'5" frame. I am now 135lbs and physically the strongest I have ever been. As an added bonus I get to workout with the most supportive and encouraging fellow gym members to ever exist. No matter what obstacles I may face in a workout I know that I can always count on my gym to push me when I just want to quit. Without CrossFit Gainesville's coaches and gym members I never would have made it to where I am today. I consider it an honor and it gives me a great sense of pride to tell people I am a member of CrossFit Gainesville.

Things that I love:
camaraderie
competition
the feeling of one-on-one experience despite being in a group class (I don't feel we would ever start a move without you guys making sure we have it down). At other Crossfits, it just doesn't happen the same way (especially in VA, which I think I told you was more a of a churning factory.)
challenges- the named workouts, nutrition, end of the year goals...these things have really kept me focused, motivated and honest!
your honesty, especially when my form is sucky!
I know I've told you before, this is one of the best things I have ever done. I'm really pleased with the results. Thanks for all that you've done!

CrossFit Gainesville is absolutely, 100%, the best athletic endeavor I have ever been involved with! The coaches and members are so supportive and motivating making the hardest workouts fun and inspiring. When I first started I never felt intimated which is a testament to the coaches who easily scaled my workouts based on my fitness level at that time. I have always felt encouraged, and I have found that I love pushing my body to its limits. When I joined CrossFit Gainesville I was suffering from a chronic hamstring injury that had plagued me for over a year. With CrossFit’s focus on functional movements that incorporate a large range of motion, I have been free of my hamstring injury since starting, and I am now training for a half marathon! CrossFit Gainesville has helped me focus on nutrition as well as and my energy levels have never been this good. I am a 38yr old mother of two who works full time, and I feel awesome! Thanks to CrossFit Gainesville I am in the best shape of my life! I cannot say enough about the great experience I have had working out at CrossFit Gainesville with Chip, Chris and Stephanie! I encourage anyone who wants to really get in shape and who wants to really feel great to contact them today.

As you know I came to Crossfit in preparation for my military career. Since arriving at Crossfit in May 2009 I have been encouraged by the small class sizes, primitive equipment set up and fraternal atmosphere of the members. I hope as the gym grows it can maintain its stripped down environment (no A/C or Heat!) and community feel between its members.
I have been very pleased with the intensity and dynamic nature of the workouts. I have been looking for every edge I can to prepare for military training and I have yet to find an experience as challenging or rewarding as Crossfit. Now I may not have too much experience to draw on, in general, but having played many sports in my youth I have yet to be pushed in the ways Crossfit forces me too. The small class instruction has been a great help in providing the knowledge needed to be confident in lifting heavier weight and sticking with the plan. The subtle critiques and presence of an instructor are a great tool to keep a long term focus.
My only concern, if any, with my Crossfit experience has simply been the price. It seems that there aren't a lot of "extraneous frills" that exist at Crossfit. Sometimes it leads me to questions the price. However, I believe the service provided is of the utmost quality and the results it has garnished for me are well worth the financial investment. I take my training seriously and hope to get out what I put into it. For these reasons, at the end of the day, I believe the cost is justified.
Since joining Crossfit I have gained 20 points on my Army Physical Fitness Test scores. The presiding Major of the Officer Review Board Jacksonville Recruiting Battalion told my recruiter that I had the best PT score he had ever seen from an officer applicant. I owe much of that to the Crossfit training regime. I have a long way to go and I still plan on scoring a perfect PT test in the next 6 months. Thank you Chris and Chip. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to greater strength, speed and versatility.

I have to admit that when my husband and best friend started talking about CrossFit a few years ago, I was skeptical. How could a 15-20 minute workout get me in better shape than my running routine? Was it worth the money? As a mother of 3 young children and owner of my own law firm, how on earth would I have time?
As I sit typing this with bloody palms and aching pectorals, I can say without hesitation that CrossFit Gainesville ("CFG") is simply awesome. I've only been a member for about four months and I'm officially hooked. I've run marathons in at little over four hours and swam for miles but I have never felt as physically challenged as I do during my CFG workouts.
It is difficult to list all the great things about CFG because there are just so many. The trainers are fantastic. I always disliked going to the gym because I never felt like I was lifting weights properly. The CFG team are ever vigilant during the work outs--constantly correcting us and suggesting ways to improve form in order to maximize efficiency. They are always pushing and encouraging us in a supportive manner. They also do an excellent job of designing WOD's that cover your entire body. My running skills have improved significantly since starting CFG, even though I'm running much less than before I started CFG. They spend time designing workouts that have great variety so we are never bored and always challenged. I actually look forward to each work out and I go to the 5:30 a.m. class! The extra challenges, work-shops and team activities that they put together for us are fabulous motivators. The group class atmosphere is also a great motivator and there is a wonderful community of folks at CFG. In addition to the classes, CFG members are always organizing group bike rides, swims and runs.
I recommend CFG to all with great enthusiasm. If I can do it, ANYONE can!

Email from Drew Davis:
Hey Chris,
Just thought I'd let you know how everything is going. I have been working like 14 hour days helping my brother get his catering company off the ground here in Boulder, CO. After work yesterday, I made my brother work out with me. He has an awesome house in the mountains here with a barn so we went down there to do pullups because it has rafters. Granted, the rafters were wooden 2x4's so they weren't the best for grip but it worked.
We did 21/15/9 of pullups, air squats, and pushups. I had to spot him on some of the pullups especially toward the end but he pushed through and finished. We didn't have a timer which kinda makes me mad. After spotting him, it was my turn. I went straight through the first 21 pullups (kipping) and probably could have done more. Oh, and it was at about 5,500 ft. so the oxygen level was not what I am used to. I was shocked!
When I first started crossfit with you guys, I could hardly do 7-8 deadhang and had no idea how to kip. I also weighed ~175 lbs. Now, I can do at least 21 kipping pullups (not sure on dead hang) and weigh 158 lbs. All I can say is thanks.
Hope everything is fine,
Drew
PS - I put my brother on paleo back in March and he's lost 45 lbs. and is under 180 now. I've got him on Crossfit now, too. It'll be interesting to see how that affects him.
